L'illa & Barcelona

L'Illa & Barcelona

L'illa Diagonal shopping mall is located in the upper Diagonal, one of the largest commercial and touristic areas of the city. The visitors of L'illa Diagonal take advantage of its location to discover this area, either by foot across its wide sidewalks, by bike or by tram. In this area, the dynamism of office buildings, hotels, shopping centers and the university contrasts with the quietness of spaces filled with history and art, like Pedralbes Royal Palace and Pedralbes Monastery.

Just a few minutes from L'illa Diagonal there is one of the main attractions of the city, the stadium of FC Barcelona, also called "Camp Nou". This is a symbol of the city and a must-see for football lovers. Every year, this stadium hosts thousands of followers and admirers of Barça.

L'illa & Barcelona
    • 1. Pedralbes Monastery: Considered one of the jewels of Catalan Gothic architecture, this monastery, built in the fourteenth century by Queen Elisenda de Montcada, houses many works of art.
    • 2. Pavilions of the Güell property: Eusebio Guell, Antoni Gaudi's main patron, was the owner of the family entertainment property that Gaudí expanded between 1884 and 1887. Innovation and decorative craftsmanship characteristic of Gaudí style come alive in the two pavilions and the iron gate with the great mythological dragon of the Hesperides garden.
    • 3. Pedralbes Royal Palace: Located in a large gardens area, this building was a request of King Alfonso XIII in 1929. Today the Palace houses the Ceramics Museum, the Museum of Decorative Arts and the Textiles and Clothing Museum, part of the Design Hub Barcelona.
    • 4. FC Barcelona Stadium: Opened in 1957 with a capacity of 100,000 spectators, the "Camp Nou" Stadium has the 5 stars status, the highest distinction awarded by UEFA for the quality of its facilities. Its visitors, however, go there looking for the experience of stepping in a place full of history and emotions.

L'illa Diagonal visitors enjoy shopping and leisure activities in the mall. The many attractions of the city of Barcelona await for them outside the shopping mall when leaving.
